Kelling Heath
Set amongst glorious heath and woodland on the Cromer Ridge, Kelling Heath provides a unique experience. With the scent and sounds of gorse and heather, iconic costal views and a chance to savour the past of the steam train passing by. Plenty of plants, insects, birds and wildlife inhabit the site.

Getting there: Signed off the A148 between Holt and Cromer at Bodham
By public transport: No bus service currently goes direct to park, Sheringham train station (two miles); Poppy Line stop Kelling Heath
By cycling or walking: Bike – about a mile off Sustrans regional route 30 Norfolk Coast Cycleway (on the Holt loop)

Wheelchair access: Car park, village square and amenities surfaced area with access ramps to buildings where necessary. Site roads surfaced and paths to and return from viewpoint on access trail fairly smooth

Accessibility: Some of this countryside site can be prone to wear and weather conditions but in general is accessible to the viewpoint and return. If exploring further there may be some short sections where the surface will be soft or uneven. Enquire at reception for further information
Gradients: Some gentle slopes on described walk

Surface: Mix of tarmac, compacted surface, grass and sandy track. Soft sand around viewpoint
Waymarking: Excellent use of waymarker posts including symbols to follow, well worth using in conjunction with sit map (on-line or from reception)
Seating: At village square and some on route
Specific hazards: Vehicles use roads around site for access (speed restricted). Open heathland with a wide mix of users i.e. children, cycling, jogging and walking which in holiday times can be busy
Footwear/clothing: Dependent on weather. No special footwear but clothing to suit conditions at time particularly in cold winds
