National Trails UK is looking for people from a range of different backgrounds with time, energy and skills to become trustees and help take forward this new charity as a champion and independent voice for the UK’s National Trails network.
A network of long-distance paths the National Trails are part of our National Landscapes formed under the same legislation that brought about the creation of National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our latest National Trail, the England Coast Path is opening in sections and in doing so bringing the benefits of the National Trails network and access to the outdoors to new communities all around the UK.
They are looking for people with organisational/charity set up skills and experience of fundraising, and recognises the broad diversity of communities across the UK with links to the National Trails network and wants to see that diversity reflected at board level so that a range of different voices, experiences and perspectives can influence the new charity’s work and early priorities.

This is a voluntary, unpaid role supported by travel and other reasonable expenses.
Trustees should have a willingness and ability to devote time and energy to the role, which is likely to require a time commitment of around 8 days a year. The term of appointment is up to three years.
