Holt Country Park
On the edge of Holt with accessible woodland paths and open glades providing everyone with the opportunity to enjoy the countryside. There are waymarked routes including arts trail and cycle route, a network of tracks to explore, an adventure play area, picnic areas, education facilities and organised family events.

Getting there: Signed at the entrance on B1149 Norwich Road and 10 minutes walk from Holt town centre
By public transport: A number of bus services serve Holt and the service to Norwich via Edgefield passes the main Country Park entrance (request stop). Nearest mainline railway station is Sheringham with bus or Poppy Line heritage railway to Holt (Holt station is about one mile)
By cycling or walking: Norfolk Coast Cycleway passes north-east of Holt, a number of footpaths are in this area of Norfolk

Hire equipment available to borrow: Self-led family discovery sheets from visitor centre
Wheelchair access: Disabled parking close to visitor centre facilities avoiding long distance across gravel. Area around centre firm and fairly level. Waymarked easy access trail and many paths are wide and firm enough buggies (*subject to weather)
For families: Play area close to centre, sculptures, waymarked trails, viewing tower, visitor centre, cycle route and plenty of woodland to explore, picnic areas including covered
Dogs: Allowed, dog waste bins provided

Footwear/clothing: Stout shoes for most times; walking shoes/boots if weather has been wet for any length of time and clothing to suit temperature. Note: walking in tree cover so can be cooler but less windy
*Site visit note: Please note that the paths in the country park are not surfaced and will become puddled and muddy during winter and wet periods making them unsuitable
