Tide times and beach safety

The Norfolk Coast has a very diverse coastline ranging from cliffs, beaches and dunes, marshes and mudflats. Wherever you are you should be be aware of the various dangers they bring and in particular the tide times.

Printed tide tables are available at a wide variety of business around the coast including bookshops, chandlers and tourist information points. Many local business websites and newsletters display site-specific timetables and weather information.

Useful national and local information can be found on www.tidetimes.org.uk - uses a map with location markers to provide tide times around the UK, locations along the Norfolk Coast AONB include Hunstanton, Burnham Overy Staithe, Wells and Wells Bar, Blakeney and Blakeney Bar, Cromer and Winterton.

The BBC Weather tide table page for the East of England covers some locations and also provides information on Coastal Forecast, Inshore Waters, Shipping Forecast and Extended Outlook.
