Dark Skies Festival 2020
Following the success of our first Dark Skies Festival in September 2019, we are now planning our second festival in late 2020 (dates to be confirmed). The aim once again will be to celebrate the night skies of the Norfolk Coast through a range of events across the coast. We plan to harness the fantastic momentum and passion achieved this year, to continue to inspire people and encourage them to look after our incredible night skies and landscapes. If you are interested in organising an event for the festival please email Kate Dougan.
In the meantime if you would like to take part in our night sky photography competition, read on...

Norfolk Coast Night Sky Competition
Submit your photos of the Norfolk Coast's skies and landscapes by night. They can be anything that reflects the landscape and area in the dark - or dusk and twilight - moonscapes, stars, wildlife and other elements that make the Norfolk coast's dark nights so special. The best ones will be chosen to feature in publications about the Norfolk Coast. And the three best will receive our special Norfolk Coast 50th celebration poster by Robert Gillmor and a copy of our photographic guide to the coast, 'Walk With Me' (total value £16).
Terms and conditions
Closing date: 31 March 2020.
We hope to use some of your photographs in publications, displays and on line, with an appropriate credit. Submission to this competition implies that you will allow us to do this.
INFORMATION NEEDED: Please include with each image: caption text including exact location; names of any people that appear; date; time; title; any other special details in the image. Please also seek and provide permission from anyone who appears in the image. And make sure each image is clearly titled with your full name and its title and date.

Norfolk Coast AONB Festival 2019
A HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in September's festival either through hosting events, giving talks and guided walks, helped to organise and publicise or simply by taking part.
The festival fortnight helped to enhance the profile of our beautiful night skies and landscapes as well as raise awareness of light pollution issues in our area and how we can all do our bit to reduce our lighting impact. As a result we have some really interesting work ahead of us.
If you would like to be involved or simply would like more information about the AONB Dark Skies project, contact Kate Dougan firstname.lastname@example.org
