Broads explorer

(Explorer loop 9, 23 miles)

An easy riding loop providing a variety of Broadland views along with a couple of villages in the eastern area of the Broads

This easy riding loop has the option of a delightful walking link taking you alongside the river Thurne into Potter Heigham with its holiday boat hire yards, shops and eateries and notably the quaint Medieaval bridge where craft take on the services of a bridge pilot during the summer.

Nearest point to the main cycleway is at Somerton - you'll know the direction by the wind turbines! If however, you have taken the alternative route from Lesingham that avoids the coast road between Sea Palling and Somerton you pass through Potter Heigham.

The Broads are a designated area and there is a small area which is shared by the Norfolk Coast AONB eastern outlier between Sea Palling and Winterton. There are a number of sources of information for the Broads that include many cycle routes should you wish to explore the area further such as www.enjoythebroads.com/info and www.broads-authority.gov.uk
